Pink Haathi

OUR STORY :

Pink Haathi is a home décor brand that works closely with local artisans of Pakistan to create chic, modern pieces made with age-old, hand working techniques. Our aim is to make a positive impact on both our customers and the communities we serve, weaving a brighter future for Pakistani handicraft and cultural appreciation.
Our brand came into existence in July 2020 with the aim to produce modern, fun products, while empowering and sustaining our artisans' livelihoods through their craft.
We believe in pushing the boundaries of design, creating a fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design elements, all while preserving the uniqueness and beauty of hand-made products. With a commitment to ethical and fair trade practices, we work with diverse, talented artisans from Sindh and Punjab which include dhurrie weavers, basketry weavers, Chunri craftsmen, ceramic potters from Hala and Multan and craftsmen who work with cane and marble.

ABOUT THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR :

Our Creative Director, Ruba Rauf, graduated with a Textile Design degree from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, majoring in Design Intervention. Ever since the completion of her mini-thesis on Dhurrie weaving, Ruba knew she wanted to work closely with artisans to sustain this age-old, heritage craft. She started Pink Haathi during the pandemic, even though the idea of the brand formed much before then.
"In my head, Pink Haathi came into existence through my love for home decoration, and with the idea that no matter who the individual is, everyone wants to make the best of their home - beautiful as they can, as comfortable as they can. With this vision, and with a bond I had already created with local artisans, I thought: why not materialise this? Why not give this a shot?"

Fun fact about Ruba: She can play board games for hours on end!
